Paraffin Wax

Product Description Of Paraffin Wax

Paraffin wax is a hydrocarbon mixture extracted from certain distillates of petroleum, shale oil, or other asphaltic mineral oils, with its main components being solid alkanes.

Product Characteristics Of Paraffin Wax

  • Paraffin wax is commonly a white, odorless waxy solid with a melting point ranging from 48°C to 64°C and a density of approximately 0.9 g/cm³. It possesses good chemical stability, excellent water repellency, and electrical insulation properties. Additionally, it is insoluble in water but soluble in non-polar organic solvents.
  • Based on the degree of refining and processing, paraffin wax can be classified into three types: fully refined paraffin wax, semi-refined paraffin wax, and crude paraffin wax. Each type is further categorized into different grades according to its melting point, generally with a 2°C interval, such as grades 52, 54, 56, 58, and so on.

Application Area Of Paraffin Wax

Paraffin wax finds applications across diverse industries, including candles, food packaging (as a coating agent), cosmetics, waterproofing materials, electrical insulation, and as a lubricant or release agent in manufacturing processes.

Packing Of Paraffin Wax

There are two packing for paraffin  :bag packing for 10 sheets per bag,50kgs/bag;carton packing for 5 sheets per carton,25kgs/carton.The quality of paraffin is the same in both bags and cartons.

  1. Storage location: The storage location should be a dry area to prevent any moisture accumulation. The temperature should be below 100°F (38°C) to avoid melting or deterioration of the wax’s quality.
  2. Avoid storing in contact with chemicals: Paraffin  should not be stored near chemicals or other products that may release fumes or gases. This could result in contamination and reduce its quality.
